Vital Incite continues to do research on our data to help improve strategies and better understand the market. The following are some key takeaways from our year-end research.
- There was a significant increase incidence of Type 2 Diabetes for most plans. Plans are spending 11% more on medications, but only 48% of those persons improved their A1c control. Cost of a person with diabetes increased $1,855 to costing $11,544 more than someone without the condition.
- D• By adding NADAC information in our pharmacy review, we are finding different opportunities to reduce pharmacy spend by PBM. Including rebate information is allowing us to identify the opportunities for each health plan.
