Weight Loss Medications Hitting the Market

As noted in an FDA article on the newest weight loss drug here, more weight loss medications are hitting the market. In one larger client, we found a 43% increase in these medications being prescribed and only 2% of those persons on the medications had a diagnosis of diabetes. Of course, since we always discuss prevention, we understand the need to help people improve their health prior to developing hypertension or type 2 diabetes, but since some of these medications are $2,000 a month, are we sure this is the best and a sustainable strategy?
